Note in regard to Proposed Working Agreement with British Section.

Suggested rules for provision of Coaches for through

crocers. trains.

Chinese section provide 16 coaches and British Section provide

4 coaches.

The composition of the trains to be such that on the total trains run the proportion of coaches supplied shall be Chinese Section : British Section :: 4 : 14.

Say 2 trains each way are run per day and each train consists of

Then in a month of 30 days 420 coach-journeys will be made, or, in a year of 365 days 5,110 coach-journeys will be made. Then in one year the Chinese Section shall provide for 4,088 coach-journeys and the British Section for 1,022 coach-journeys. This gives an average of 11.2 coaches per day for the Chinese Section and 2.8 coaches per day for the British Section.

It can then be agreed that the trains shall be made up as per attached diagram as far as practicable

The coach-journeys for the year shall be calculated and any difference between the figures given in paragraph 5 adjusted by

mile for hire, say, 10 payment of an agreed sum per coach

3 or more Chinese Section coaches would have to be kept at

Kowloon.
